DIY // Bleached St. Patty's Day Slouchy Tank Top

Do It YourselfThe Perfect Pear4 Comments

Howdy! :) Tomorrow is st. patty's day and needless to say, I'm pretty excited, but I mean it doesn't take much for me to get excited about pretty small things! This year for St. Patty's day I wanted to branch away from the traditional green apparel and make something that's cute but also practical, so that I'm not just wearing it one day of the year! Ya know? And so I took this black shirt, cut out a stencil and bleached a cute little shamrock onto it! I'm in love with how it turned out!

p.s. silly me totally forgot to take pictures while I was making it! gahh

Step One

= Take a large shirt and cut the sleeves and neckline off to make a tank top!

Step Two

= Print off a giant shamrock onto some thick paper and cut the stencil out with scissors.

Step Three

= Lay out your shirt in a bath tub or somewhere safe to spray bleach, and put the stencil over top.

Step Four

= Its also a very good idea to put a piece of thick paper in your shirt to prevent bleeding. Then cover the rest of your shirt except for the stencil with paper or plastic.

Step Five

= Put some bleach into a spray bottle and spray all over the stencil, making sure to do this quickly and thoroughly.

Step Six

= Remove the stencil and the paper or plastic and let the bleach sit until you're happy with the color. You can also spray some more bleach to create those small dots over top.

Step Seven

= Spray/ wash with cold water, then wash with soap a few times!

Step Eight

= Dry and wear!

Hope everyone has a swell St. Pattys Day tomorrow!
